I have one of those and hate it as well. The seat broke right off on me. It was a gift so I reinforced it, but it’s so uncomfortable I ultimately sent it to the attic. One of these days I’m going to break down and buy a Soundseat.Do you have a great guitar playing stool/ chair? Years ago I decided to get a dedicated music chair so I bought a Quicklock musicians chair. Here's a photo followed by the reasons why I hate it:
1 its too big, the footprint is bigger than the stool and the back sticks out. takes up space.
2 its heavy, hard to move. It folds but not flat unless you remove the seat, backrest and footrest. Not really portable.
3 its too tall at its lowest position to rest my feet on the floor. I have to put my feet on the foot rest then the rubber ends slide off
4 its loud. Seriously for a "musician's chair", I had this thing in my home studio and it creaks. You have to be careful to hold still if there's a live mic nearby
Who has the perfect guitar playing chair? I want to see it!

This is what I wanted to see, looks quality - I didn't really want it to be $400. I remember now I had a large drummer that swore by theseOne of these days I’m going to break down and buy a Soundseat.
You know what Coop, you are right. I’m doing it. I just check my past emails and see I was in touch with them in 2019 to discuss options but I balked, then again in 2020 but balked. Time to get comfortable dammit.
I've tried a few, but they squeaked too much. And they didn't like getting loaded in a car.Any comfortable office desk type chair w/ air piston height adjustment suits me fine. I simply take the arm rests off (usually just 2 thread bolts holding them on) and I'm in business. I can either sit upright on the front edge like it's a stool, or I can comfortably lean back w/ the guitar resting in my lap if I want to noodle while watching tv.
Same. I’m on my second office chair with arms removed. They’re not very good quality and do get squeaky.I've tried a few, but they squeaked too much. And they didn't like getting loaded in a car.
I had one of those and I think I ended up throwing it away. I also tried one of the Gator Frameworks stools:Do you have a great guitar playing stool/ chair?
