old school London saw. How old is it? Looks great...Getting nut slots cut. I start with my trusty little London saw to get the slots started after marking them out. One big advantage with classical is that the string widths are not as drastically different as they are with steel strings. Thus they can be spaced center to center, as opposed to edge to edge where the gaps between strings are the same. No need for my fancy nut slot spacing ruler.
Then I start with the smallest nut file on all the slots, and step up to wider files after. There's less chance of a beefy file wandering off the spacing that way. It's only enlarging a slightly thinner slot.
I don't know. With English tool companies they could have the same model lasting from the 19th century well into the WWII era. There's not a lot out there on this maker.old school London saw. How old is it? Looks great...
