You knew that was going to happen when the only thing the guy was concerned about was how much they were worth. Hopefully, they'll go to owners who'll appreciate them.

Fair play would be no one from LTG making a bid on them.

WOW, this is a tough room. I a have a fairly nice size guitar collection and I have my own favorites. I was not about to let this deal get away just because they are not my type of guitar. The reason I went on this board was to help make my decision on wether to keep them or try to get them into the hands of someone who would appreciate them. I have been gone most of the afternoon and I did not expect them to be on so early. I was absolutely going to post on this board and say that they would be on E-bay today. Everyone has ther favorites. mine are Fenders, But there is not one of you on this board that would have passed up this deal. I bet if you went in a pawn shop and they offered you a vintage Fender or Gibson for the price I paid, you would jump on it too. I LOVE GUITARS period. I know that instruments of this caliber deserve to be in the hands of someone who will play them, not just hanging on my wall. That S-100 has incredible tone, I play through a DR. Z Maz38 and it is just brilliant, but, I just recently had surgery, and my wife and I just had a baby, and I can't afford to keep everything. I know there are people out there who dream of owning a guitar like these, and I want to give them a chance. I am sorry if I affended anyone, I know how loyal a player can be to his brand, and I completely understand. Times have been tough lately and a man goto do what a man gota do. I thank you guys for all your help, and again I am sorry if anyone has been offended.

Have a great holiday and take care,
Marty

Sorry for jumping to this particular conclusion, after a while you see quite a few people who just want to pump you for information and then are never seen again. I'm sure you've run into that behavior on other boards. I understand that times are tough, especially with a family, so I'm not blaming you. Part of the appeal of this board is the vicarious living through others, at least for me. I assumed (and you know what they say about that), that you were a three post and done guy, and for that I apologize.

Well, yeah, but if I really liked them, and they weren't a blackguard tele or a flametop Les Paul (which both bring stupid, irresistable money and are worth too much to use on the kind of stages I play), I'd keep them and play them.

I don't have a problem with it either FNG, it's just a little anticlimactic after the "yay - look at these two cool Guilds I got for next to nothing!". That's all.

Hey lsvgshensel,

You have no problem with me. The cool thing was that you spotted two Guilds at a bargin wasting away in a pawn shop and returned them back to the Guild fan cub with your ebay auction. The fact that you started them at $1 is fair enough.

On this site we usually are very critical of certain dealers who ask unrealistically high prices on guitars that don't sell.

In your case you made them available rock bottom to let the Guild folk decide what their worth.

If you would have put them on ebay at a $300 each BIN we would have been insulted at your low assessment of their value and would have snagged them up in a second!

You can't win either way.

Both guitars will sell but I suspect that black S100 is gonna sell at a high price to someone who will appreciate it as a Holiday gift.

Glad you found out site!

M :)

Yeah.....,we just wish it was us.....kind of like your friends become successful, we say one thing, but may be thinking another....except on this forum....we will flat out say, damn, why wasn't it me! but like its been said, thanks for redirecting them to a more appreciative home, and I hope the new owners find us, or are already part of this family. If not, how about you enclose an invite, to the new owners to join us. Good luck, now go find an F612 for some of the covetous members here.   Steffan

Well, I am glad some people understand. I have rescued some very nice guitars from this perticular shop. The list is unbelievable. As I stated before I LOVE guitars. i usually bring them home clean them up, play them for awhile and decide if i should keep them. Any time Iput them on E-bay it is always with no reserve. I try to find forums that are always full of experts and simply put, people who just LOVE that perticular brand. and give them a fair chance th own a classic. The number of guitars I pass on due to improper storage over their lifetime, or just plain neglect would make you sick. I have gotten more parts guitars, than you can imagine because they sit strung for years, and the neck is just shot. I think it just proves the quality Guild puts into its products, because these two guitars are just straight as an arrow, and I know I said before but tha S-100 is just amazing. i would love to be able to keep it, but due to my recent surgery, the Christmas season, and just the state of the economy in general, I hve to let them go. There will be some pictures of the S-1oo added to E-bay of the electronics and the paper lable inside and you will see this guitar is completely unmollested.

Thanks again guys for understanding, and I sure hope one of you get the chance to make a home for these two amazing instruments!

Happy Holidays to you and your families,
Marty

P.S. I hope I can find another one in a time when I will be able to keep it and join this family for good !!!

That is one seriously cool black S100. I'd love to have it as a spiffy, young-lookng companion to my old, beaten and bedraggled '71 black beauty. Alas, I don't have the coin to play with right now.

For the bazillionth time I wish Guild were making solidbody electrics again. LOL!

GREAT score and more power to ya!

Man, both of those are beauties. Wish I was the lucky one who found them.

Just goes to show ya, there are still a few of the mythical pawn shop prizes out there!

I'm not busting on ya or anything bro, more power to ya for making a buck and, yea, I am hella jealous...but, I gotta say, this little bit in the auction made me LOL.

Shipping cost is the actual cost. It should be about $50 to the lower 48. I am not looking to make any money on shipping.

First of all, I am selling these guitars through a small guitar shop in town. He is a young guy trying to be a business owner here in the little town we live in. He has a small shop and it been rough going. I try to throw him a few bones by doing all the leg work on my E-bay transactions. He does a great job on packing and shipping these guitars, and I have to say, unless you have been to a UPS packing store lately you do not realize how quickly shipping adds up. There has never been an issue with a guitar he has shipped, and I'm talking some high end instruments. I know for a fact he packs them, takes them to UPS and he charges you exactly what he pays.

Like I said, I'm not bustin' your balls or anything...I'm sure he packs them well. I just found it funny considering the steal you found them for and the price they are at already...that's all.
