The charcoal burst is interesting. But it looks kinda roughly done and then the soundboard looks distressed. I suppose that's on purpose but I keep looking at it trying to decide if I like it. The burst on the one above is beautiful. Here's the other color: CHARCOAL

The charcoal doesn't grab me like a well done Guild burst, (which when done right I think are better than Gibsons).

Color seems off to me....maybe with a black pickguard??

Also the striations in the stain on the top look odd.

Reminds me of a rat rod not well executed

Not to go all other brand along with thread veering but Eastman has done a good job of other bursts . I'm not sure if there model specific but the one that catches my eye the most is this pic .
I do love the tobacco Burst guild had .

I see what you mean about the Musician's Friend model, Tom. Is Guild going for a "distressed" look?

Mine is the original version with the natural top, satin finish.

Ok, here are the pics..I will write my review separately. There is a pic with both the blond and the burst. The other pic is my 79' and the 12er..

Ok, here is my review of my new F2512E deluxe. First, the reason I bought it was because I thought the blond with satin finish was a little too chimney for my taste. Also I'm not a big fan of the satin finish, but this was the best 12 string for the money at the time. Then this year they came out with the deluxe and it had everything I wanted for just a little bit more money. I was hoping that the tone was a little more mellow due to the gloss finish? As it turns out I was correct. The new deluxe did not disappoint. Not only does it feel better but the tone is way more mellow and that of the older Jumbo 12's. I think you cant go wrong with either one of these, but for me I absolutely love the new Deluxe.

I just noticed the bound fingerboard. That's a really nice extra touch. Glad your digging it!

Yeh, I was happy with that also, the face of the headstock is gloss finish as well. The guitar is only 100.00 more than the old satin model, but well worth the extra cash...
