Not sorry they sang this witty ditty.[/quote]

Ah, the Easybeast - what a band. "Friday on My Mind" is an absolute classic pop song. Used to do "Sorry" with my old band as well, so much fun to play.

The guitarist & co-writer of those songs, George Young, is the older brother of the AC/DC guitarists.

Hi Z: about once every 18 months, somebody - often me - finds a way to dredge up the EB's 'Friday' ... wildly popular back in the day. 8)

Sounds like a worthy & honourable tradition! This is also a great song (sound quality is low but the 60's chicks are hot): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nKpnCbHCe64

Congrats on the Stanford Ike. My MIA post fender Westerly D40 is a far better sounding guitar than any of the three D25's (two Westerly, one Corona) I had. J45's, D18's and similar do not compare. Cost me 600 bucks... I'll keep an eye out for a Stanford to play though...

Thanks for the link Z, enjoyed it ... they were really full of energy. I think only 'Friday' charted here which made them seem like one-hit wonders in the states ... speaking of energetic one-hitters and with plenty of female eye-candy .... (that's our Frono in a former life playing that driving bass  )

I also find it disturbing that I've never seen Michael and Janet Jackson together at the same time, or Superman and Clark Kent. :?
My brother stimulates views of his blog site by pretending to be two different people flaming each other, if that's any kind of a clue.

Ha, cool capn'. Frono is that really you? The stories you could tell... I also love the version by The Clash but they didn't make use of any dancing punkettes.

The Easybeats are probably Australias most reverered band of the 60s, lots of hits here. The guitarists & song writing team of Vanda & Young also wrote & produced lots of Aussie acts especially, & produced the first few AC/DC albums I think (as stated earlier George is the older brother of Malcolm & Angus of AC/DC). They also did some stuff as a studio duo under the moniker Flash & The Pan - I think this may have been a minor hit Stateside - "Hey St Peter" : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tz48dyXTFpQ

Grace Jones had a hit with her cover of their song "Walking in the Rain"
