You might have to rent a spectral analyzer.
Don't you tempt me with testing equipment. That's another problem area for me...

the millions of reflections of all colors.
Wow that really does look holographic. So depending on the angle the color will shift / change, right?
Wow! Looking at that hollowflake is like looking into deep space. I'm happy you grabbed one of these.
Funny you mentioned it looks like deep space. G&L has a finish called "Galaxy Black". It's a deep black gloss base with those holoflake sparkles in it, but applied much more sparsely. It's not anywhere near as densely sparkly as this Guild, but it's cool in that the sparkles change color with a change in viewing angle.
Jeff, Kauer's finish looks very much like Guild's, don't you think?
Jeff, those tuner buttons!!! OMG!! Those are so great! I love the color, wow!!This is a finish Kauer calls “Nebula”. If you look closely you can see red and blue sparkles among the silver and gold. It’s beautiful.
I guess I derailed anyway...
I wonder why the flakes are hexagonal and not round?
There are different types and sizes of machines that are used for cutting glitter. Most machines have blades that cut the glitter into either hex shape pieces or square shape pieces depending on how the film is fed into it. Other machines die-cut shapes from the film. With some machines, the hex shape flakes are fed in at an angle and square flakes are fed straight in. Different blade configurations are used based on the size of the flake.
