Oh it's a real headstock, self-contained, (except for solar panel pickguard) all hard-wired with factory lifetime warranty.

Or you could buy one of the NFT versions. The HiTek F49 70th Anniversary Edition. Limited to 70 pieces give or take.

Oh waitaminnit, are you saying you want a smartphone embedded in the headstock? It'd have to be upgradable, of course, but........brilliant!!! They'll keep coming back for upgrades!
SOOOO, during your song set you could like, say "Excuse me folks, I"m getting a call right now, SORRY!!" and it'd be okay because the audience would all be on their phones and they wouldn't notice??? OMG!!

Mikey, that'd be awesome. Let's keep at the membership to see if there's an inclination for a special model. I think LTG might be on it's 20th anniversary this year (not sure), but if we're still motivated for a 25th, I bet that'd get some interest (I know I'd be interested).

The UMGF did a beautiful guitar in figured mahogany that people were able to order from Martin for several years. Maybe we can work out something like that (rather than 20 pcs at once) with CMG.

Chazmo, I was actually thinking a nice (real) Honduran Mahogany would be a great choice, figured hog even better.

The key could be finding an independent dealer to go partners with who was also interested in having an exclusive model to offer its customers. We could help them get to the minimum number necessary.

Maybe we get an LTG embedded somewhere for our members and the dealer has a little something special for their customers.

Since we're talking about coffee cups, that's what we'll probably get, 70-year anniversary coffee cups if we're lucky, and MIC.

I probably couldn't afford to buy it - but I'd guess it would go for upwards of $4K.

That's the problem with dreaming about something...realitity kicks in quickly. And Guild would need to find enough motivated buyers.
The normal D-55 is already in a higher price segment, so any change from such platform has to be minimal to stay below that.

The MSRP of the 60th Anniversay (2013) was $6999.99. Not sure how many of them pre-sold or sold afterward at or close to the MSRP, but sometimes these types of guitars do.

$7,500.00 sounds just about right for the 75th Anniversary Model.

While I understand that in order to extract as many smouldering wads of cash from the pockets of The Fans as possible, Guild might bring out some arbitrarily dated celebratory model, (in this case, their 70th anniversary).
But what really mystifies me is why anyone would want to own one, espcially if they already own a guitar with all the same sound characteristics.
In my opinion, The Fans who buy into this nareshkeit (foolishness, for those of you who don't understand Yiddish) are the reason the people in the Marketing Departments go to sleep smiling every night.

The more affordable side of things would be something based on the current U.S.-built M20 and M40 models. It might be an excellent excuse to make a limited run of painted guitars like the Daphne Blue Nikki Lane model. And remove the 75 guitars limit?

I would be game for that.

Hey you could always go over to Gibson and invest in their virtual guitar - you get to lay your money down but you don't get the guitar...

"Sounds like my 401k."

Hey, my 401K stilll turned out better than my "profit sharing." The company officers got big shares, we got little tiny shares. Our shares were allegedly worth $35 but in fact, when the officers all cashed out on the same day, our shares were actually worth $5. I was there a long time and my "virtual loss" was in the neighborhood of $40K.

Tommy,
RBSinTo's Law states, "Everybody does what they do. I do what I do. You do what you do. And he does what he does."
So knock yourself out. Sleep smiling, and buy whatever they issue.
Me? I don't care who is bringing out a commemorative model.
Even if it's C.F. Martin or Nikon ( I'm an avid, long time photographer) I'm not even remotely interested.
And one other strike against commemorative issues: They are usually construed as being " collectable" so they often become shelf queens lest they become less than pristine and lose perceived future value.
I believe that guitars gotta guitar and cameras gotta camera, so I'll pass.

Well, Guild has put out some very beautiful and special anniversary models over the years. I certainly hope Guild does one for their 70th in 2023. I also hope that someday we try (again) to put an LTG custom together, though I'm doubtful we could make the numbers work unless it's done like Martin did the UMGF style (offered for a period of time).

Oh, and for the record, I don't think most folks in guitar marketing have a particularly easy time of it. ;)

I hope so too as I'm getting up there in age. If I'm around for Guild's 80th Anniversary, I'll probably have to be content with drinking my meals through a straw out of a Guild Guitar 80th Anniversary coffee mug.

Time to re-post some built pictures of the 60th anniversary model:
