One of the Bobbys; Darin, Vee, Rydell, Vincent, Socks ... don't recall the name of the 'do but my oldest bro wore his hair like that in the late 50s. Volare ... the Italian version ... had to have been one of earliest examples of payola ... over and over and over and over ... And people seek explanations for the alienation of youth in the 60s ... just keep pumping this nauseating tune at them ... first Domenigo ... and then Bobby ... and then Dean Martin .... gag gag gag (we don't have a smiley for wretching) anybody really wonder what the appeal of This was?

BTW, wasn't that haircut known as a "D.A." back in the day?

Doesn't look like he had enough hair in the back to be a true "D.A."

If he had a pair of these, it wouldn't matter .... and it's one for the money ....

Just be careful not to step on them capn...(you can do anything (!!) but lay off of them blue suede shoes.) :)

Brad - Think you are correct. Guess one needs enough to form a nice duck's hind-ender and not sure if Bobby fits the bill :)

Back in the day, they were called Bombers where I lived ... my oldest bro ... he of the DA ... he had a pair ... and, no ... my other bro and I didn't ... Somewhere back in the threadstack, there's a 60's thread ... tie-dye, VW buses, those dangly things in doorways like something out of the Casbah ... If we're not careful, this will become the dumping ground for Ultra-Geezers

Well ... yes ... but in the negative sense ... seems to me that if you and I and Brad are going to out ourselves agewise, we'd be better off tuning this thread back another 10 years ... I don't think pot daddy there would be caught dead with a DA and bombers ... took me a while to see that her fingers aren't broken ... that third finger sticking out awkwardly is actually somebody's arm in the background ... :D
