Guild Deco Custom Shop

Found this one on craigslist up in Columbus, OH. Surprised nobody had posted it yet. I remembered that Guildzilla was up that way, so I pm'ed him, and he said he was looking at the same ad just about the time he got my message. He said he wasn't interested in buying the guitar, so I asked him if he would check it out for me, and he graciously drove over, took some pics and scoped it out. Gave me a nice debrief on the phone.

After much sucking up to the wife, boot licking, dishwashing, and footrubs, I snagged it!! Check is in the mail. Shipping guitars gives me a tummy ache, so wish me luck.

Doug(zilla) said it was in great shape, just a slight seam seperation on the top, which can be easily fixed. I think a good bath of Florida humidity will help also. Said it played and sounded great also.



So...a public thanks to Doug for helping out. I know he has a trained eye for Guilds, and I would have had some worries buying a guitar like this without his help. Thanks bro!!!

I think the Guild Custom shop was open 1997-2000, in Nashville. They built the Valencia, Deco and Finesse models, along with the D/JF-100s, I believe.

I think this was based on the DV-52 design, according to what Guildzilla found during his research.

I think this was based on the DV-52 design, according to what Guildzilla found during his research.

They also built the 45th anniversary, the firebird, and the crossroads there. And perhaps the F30R-LS.

I dont think they built the d100's or the jf100's there...but i could be wrong.

I think they built D100 at both Westerly and the Custom Shop.....could be wrong though.
