Welcome to LTG! You're getting it right from the horse's mouth in the next post. Do you have a photo you can post? We love photos here.I have a guitar (Guild D40) with serial number "DD400960" and I want to know the year of manufacture of my guitar.
Thank you very much
Thanks Hans. This is one of the last D40s produced I think? I thought they were discontinued around this time for a while.Hello Christr,
Welcome! Your Guild D-40 with serial # DD400960 was completed during the year 1999.
Sincerely,

'98 or 9 was the "comeback" year after being on hiatus for several years; the flatbackhogbodysprucetop niche was filled by the D6, DV6, and DV25 during that time. This was the "end of Westerly" D40 with a snakehead headstock, in Corona they went back to the "paddle", but I think some of the earliest Corona D40's still had snakeheads, as seen on early Corona JF30's as well.Welcome to LTG! It's been in continuous production since then.
