Space allowing, I think you could justify having both just for the "tone flavor" variety. And I'd be leery about taking a nice vintage piece outside the house too. Heck, my D40 and F65ce have only been outside my residence about 3 times each in all the time I've owned 'em.
Funny, I took my F112 out to a bbq restaurant the 2nd week I had it.
I put an old Bill Lawrence sound hole pickup in it. The pickup was kind of a disaster. I’m having a Baggs anthem sl installed now.
I’m seeing it as a solo gig guitar and the D2612 as a band guitar.
I’ve never been one to coddle instruments, but I’ve never been one to get much resale out of them either.☺️

I got my F112 back and spent a lot of time A-Bing it with the D2612CE and I'm amazed how nice the new one sounds. The Dread just has more punch. The two guitars are approximately the same size except for the waist, but the laminated arched back really seems to throw out the sound. I am appreciating the cutaway, it facilitates a few of the songs I do. The nut seems to be a smige wider which makes it a little easier to navigate in the open position. I don't care for the satin neck, but I'll probably see if I can buff a shine on it with some Meguiar's.
At this point I'm leaning to keeping both. I may call Sweetwater and see if they want to work something out with me so I keep the one they sent me. I still need the saddle lowered and I'd like to get the finish crack sealed, though that's probably not a very big deal on a laminated back.
Comparing the Fishman Sonitone with the Baggs Anthem SL, the Baggs wins when I have a lot of the Mic in the mix. At gigging volume there isn't as much difference since you have to cut the mic down.
I'm really happy to have two distinct voices to play with. It's probably one more than I need, but it's a nice luxury.
The Chinese Guild plays and sounds really good. I would not be reluctant to get one in the future.
A lesson learned is to play a guitar a while before deciding you don't like it. I am too prone to making snap judgements.

As I understand it that's not gonna be easy with polyurethane lacquer.

Yeah be very surprised if the wood itself is cracked, but as mentioned, just repairing the crack could be quite a project.
My "understanding'" is based on threads like this one from Ultimate Guitar forum:

Let us know whatcha decide. :)

The latest news is that I’m keeping the guitar and Sweetwater is sending me a guild deluxe USA case with a built in humidifier. It’s a pretty pricey case so I figure it’s about right to make up for the crack.
I’ve been playing the D2612ce along side the f112 and they both sound great but they are completely different. The dread has more meat and punch and the f112 has more sparkle. I might give the edge the D2612 in covering a wider spectrum.
It’s shocking how good this low cost Chinese made guitar is.
