portsiders new guitar is actually called the "D-2612CE DELUXE" and an "F-2512E DELUXE" and "F-2512CE DELUXE" are already existing.D-2612E? What'll they come up with next? (F-2612E? F-1612E?)
Wouldn't you know it!...an "F-2512E DELUXE" and "F-2512CE DELUXE" are already existing....
Oops I forgot the “D”.portsiders new guitar is actually called the "D-2612E DELUXE" and an "F-2512E DELUXE" and "F-2512CE DELUXE" are already existing.
The "DELUXE" adder simply means "Arched Exotic Woods" as a "normal" "F-2512E Maple" would have well "normal" maple...

You can edit the title of your original first post. Also you forgot the "DELUXE" at the end, as the DELUXE models are different (better).Oops I forgot the “D”.
It arrived Thursday and I gave it 24 hours before opening.
It sounds really nice but it’s hard to play. I guess I’m too much of a wuss for EJ38s. The saddle needs to be shaved, there is a big gap between the fret board and the strings at the 12th fret. Besides that it just doesn’t fit in the hard like the old ones do.
The bad thing is there’s a 4 inch finish crack on the back by the strap button. It most certainly isn’t there in the pictures.
I emailed my guy at Sweetwater and I’ll probably return it unless I get a considerable refund for the damage. Even then I might just say screw it.
I liked the idea of a new guitar that would stand up to gig use, but I may have to stick with westerly built Guilds.
And you both forgot the "c" for Cutaway Electric....You can edit the title of your original first post. Also you forgot the "DELUXE" at the end, as the DELUXE models are different (better).Oops I forgot the “D”.

10 points fo Al! How did that happen? I corrected my post #6 above now....Thanks for pointing that out!And you both forgot the "c" for Cutaway Electric....
All the MIC Guilds are poly finish, no need to worry about thermal shock checking like with genuine NCL...Might be another plus for gigging use.It arrived Thursday and I gave it 24 hours before opening.
True about the poly but I figured I’d do as they recommended. Wood still expands and contracts. All the MIC Guilds are poly finish, no need to worry about thermal shock checking like with genuine NCL...Might be another plus for gigging use.
Right, but with NCL it's the difference in expansion/contraction rates that causes the cracking. Poly's too damn durable to break at all. (And certainly can't fault you for erring on the side of caution, just wanted to relieve you of that worry.)True about the poly but I figured I’d do as they recommended. Space allowing, I think you could justify having both just for the "tone flavor" variety. And I'd be leery about taking a nice vintage piece outside the house too. Heck, my D40 and F65ce have only been outside my residence about 3 times each in all the time I've owned 'em.I get my F112 back from the luthier I want to play them side by side and decide if there’s a good reason to keep both.
That's a very very good thing!!The happy result of this whole adventure is it got me playing a lot more.
