Few decades ago . . .

I had this lovely ReVox stereo-tower - w a BIG volume knob - about 2x120W and JBL L-100 speakers - so loud at home . . .

Then one day a couple w a toddler came to visit - we had some music playing at soft volume - the toddler wandered around - stopped at the Revox-tower - then stretched his hand - and turned the volume UP - then fell on his butt - started crying . . .

I had a similar experience to that toddler some years ago, when I decided to put on 'Come together' by the Beatles, on the HiFi at a friend's house who had a valve amplifier. It just had that one big 'Gain' knob which I turned up to a modest 4 after the needle had settled on the record. The resulting blast set all the dogs in the neighborhood off barking and probably left my friend's house structurally compromised .🫣

I should clarify that that’s not a comment on Guildedagain at all - just a common theme on the modern Internet. If you actually escape the embed YT zooms it into the whole phone screen.
