In the last 19 years, I've had a couple of occasions where it would have been more convenient if I had a checkbook. But only 2 in like almost 20 years? I do know people who write checks all the time, but I have no need for them.

NY Times had an article recently about the dangers of writing checks these days.

Essentially if bad folks get their hands on your written checks, they wash the ink off for the amount, and rewrite it.

They say if you do write checks, use a gel pen, as the ink penetrates the paper, and is much more difficult to remove undetected.

I think I've used 10 checks in the last 5 years. And only to people I know.

In the town I grew up in we famously had an egg machine outside a local farm. I give you, The Egg-O-Mat!
