This one is just dumb. Losing horses in the old west likely meant death. They were also worth a fortune. No one would ever voluntarily kill a horse unless it was untreatably sick or lame.

No offense, but I think this might be the first time I've ever seen anyone take a silly Far Side comic with any sort of historical ernesty. (not to mention, Native Americans existed there without horses for 10,000 years) Just saying...
