Geez, I wonder if that happens with body cams, 2-way radios, cell phones, et al.?

Was that rhetorical? One of my stories was when the priest was wearing a live wireless microphone and chose to visit the bathroom. Luckily all the congregation heard was the flush.

My oh my - I have done some sound-installations for churches - they all included some kind of mixing board or tablet.

May be the operator was in "blessed state" and not noticed that "the priest has left the building" 😂

The system did not have a live operator. Levels were set and left alone. The system was designed to amplify the voice of one or two people in the service. The pipe organ did not need amplification and when the musicians did, they brought their own equipment.

Several years back, the speaker for one of our weekly departmental seminars got all mic'd up and ready, then made a last visit to the restroom, forgetting to turn off his wireless mic... We in the audience were all quite amused.

AFAIK, I never forgot to mute my wireless mic when I used the restroom during the breaks in my lectures... at least, no one ever said anything. WHo knows...
