It's the only extant photo of me and my F-312, which was stolen (as many of you know) in 1985 and replaced by my current F-512.

There are 2 interesting things about this photo: 1, I didn't remember that the F312 had no fret markers. And 2, why didn't anybody tell me to get rid of those pants?!?!?

Happy Thanksgiving to everybody! Cheers, Barbara

Barb,
Don't be so sure that the F-312 did not have fret markers.

How could you possibly see them with the glare from those pants. :p

I think I had curtains made out of that same material!

Great shot, Barbara. I only wish I had thought to take photos back then...

I think I had some pants like that in '74, too! Wish I'd had the guitar.

Yeah, I kind of wish I had the guitar too. I didn't realize at the time that it would grow to be in its own little niche, you know? I wonder now if it was Brazilian (no, I do not want to reopen that conversation again!) -- but all I recall about it was that it was made in Westerly, and that it was a factory second. I think the salesman at Medley Music said that the lacquer wasn't quite right. I do wish I'd kept the serial #, etc.

However... glad to be rid of the pants!

Just think, someone actually designed, manufactured, advertised, and sold those pants.

And you bought them.

Seriously, Barbara, it's a great photo and thanks so much for sharing it. :D

I love the photo - those old scans are priceless.

Pants like that are being marketed today - "for adults" -

I had pants just like those! :D

I didn't mind having an older (not much) sister, but wearing her handmedowns to the prom made for a long and lonely night.

Now you've really started something!
I'm digging around to find an old photo of yours truly. The one I'm thinking of is from the mid-70s and while there might be some 'humorous content' I can't promise to beat those pants!!

Stay tuned,
Joe

I'm so glad I have been able to brighten your Thanksgiving (or otherwise) holiday! :)

For those who want to know (and why you want to know is beyond me!), the pants were navy blue & white striped, and they had belonged to my aunt, who often handed me down some of her clothing when she got tired of it. I had to wear something nice to that event, because I was called to be the "soloist" at some kind of Ladies' Auxiliary brou-ha-ha that day, and I couldn't wear my usual outfit of blue jeans and my dad's old ratty shirt. My mom made me "dress up." The photo is from the Main Line Times, the local neighborhood rag. I played what seemed like three hundred John Denver tunes to old genteel ladies with blue hair who clapped their hands and tapped their toes in time to the music. I have to say they weren't too appreciative of Joni Mitchell tunes, though. They mostly fell asleep at that point in the "programme."
