I've never heard of anyone having any problems with Reverb or eBay data security and I'd bet they are both as secure as Amazon.com. Like all things on the internet there are risks but so many people will hand their credit cards to the restaurant waitstaff who walks off to ring out the order. There's more risk in that honestly. Online commerce is the future ;-)

I live in a very rural part of a rural part of the country, just like I planned. The degree to which my life has been enriched by having access to the vintage guitar market via the internet is immeasurable. I keep a small amt of $ in a checking acct that is just for instrument trading, and add to it just as I'm buying, so if it gets picked I don't have much to lose.

When I think about it, I buy everything except food and fuel online anyway. As Sal said, it's the norm now. The future ain't what it used to be. If you don't jump in now you'll be left behind.

Man 'o man....why isn't anyone here jumping on this guitar? I looked tirelessly for something like this. A rare find here or anywhere. Not affiliated...just drooling.

Crazy, right? I'm pondering selling my '57 but discouraged by the flukey nature of the market for these sweet little guitars. The string spacing is the downside.

Hey guys,

Thanks so much for keeping up the discussion on this sweet guitar. I've had a few offers here from fellow LTGers.

We have a lot of great guitar shops in the Tampa area, and I'll try my chances at those in the future. I am sure I'll be low-balled! For example, we just had a new Music Go Round open in Bradenton (home of the Pirates training camp - Go Bucs!) and their offer was laughable (in retrospect, I think the guy looking at it was comparing it to prices of newer Guild M-20s, as he said he came up with his low offer as the ones on the internet looked like they never came out the of case...didn't hit me til later that he had no idea he was looking at a 1965...seems that if its not a Martin or Gibson, these guys don't know what we have.)

I'm a little more motivated now that I bought a used car for my daughter. Only issue is I wouldn't ship during cold weather.

Thanks again!

Jim
