Thanks, D30Man!

Little response here, so looks like I'll be listing it on Reverb.

Looks like a beauty! Can't your daughter keep riding a bike for awhile? :sorrow:

Understand you have time constraints but we've got a few guys who don't visit too often, so you may want to consider bumping it next week if still not sold locally.

Let's see if I can link to one of your photos . . . might help you sell this guitar:

Thanks geoguy!

With that kind gesture, I'm reducing the price by $100 for any LTG'er, only. So, it's now at $1,000 here.

thanks!

Hi jedzep,

I have not yet posted it on Reverb, per advise from adorshki.

And dreadnut, your recommendation to have her ride her bike longer is well spoken (no pun intended), but she had it stolen from outside a gym when she forgot to lock it up!

That stinks Jim! People who steal bikes ( and guitars ) should be beaten.

If shipping is a big stumbling block for you, Jim, I get that, but you're cutting yourself off from a huge customer base by keeping it local.

Hi Jim: Didn't mean to hold you back from listing there, only advising that you should leave it up here and come back and "bump" it every week or 2.
Plus as Jedzep mentioned trying to keep it local really cuts down on your potential market.
If you need shipping tips ask us here, but I also get that shipping costs have skyrocketed in the last couple of years** and I'm sure many laymen out there might have some credibility issues if you quote 'em a typical UPS rate and they haven't done it themselves lately.

** the increase in internet shipping has give rise to "Cubic foot" rates as opposed to the old-fashioned "by weight" rates, and guitars in cases are almost always classified as "oversize", even under the old system, but tehse days the issue is they don't pack nice and evenly with all the other "standard sized" boxes when they go into the inter-city trucks, anymore.

By the way...I put the old M20's on my list of greatest thousand dollar guitars. Your price is down to where it should fly out the door in any market, Jim. Playing small bods takes a special touch.

I bought my '57 from a guy who couldn't afford to keep it. Hey, I don't want to steal anyone's girlfriend, but sometimes in life it works out to be something like that. I'm hooking him up with your info, Jim.

It gets me thinking, though, about why it's good to buy and sell through a 'guarantor' entity like Reverb or Ebay. For a small fee, given the exchange of info is honest, if something goes awry there is a protective process.

I agree. My only concern with Reverb is that you are required to provide bank routing information just to advertise a guitar. Not sure if others here that have Reverb accounts have had any problems with giving out that information to Reverb. They say they don't do anything with it.

This is a general concern for many who have internet financial transactions. I'm ten years in with Ebay and six with Reverb and haven't had any issues. Banks are the final firewall and should have your back as well.
