Anybody played one? Hey, for $450 I might have to buy one just to have one I don't worry about at all. Looks great, but how do they sound?

Chinese made. The write-ups are highly favorable on this guitar.
Yes, I knew they were Chinese guitars. Gosh, for $450, why not? :giggle: Do you think the Chinese are putting listening devices in them? Maybe coating the inside with a virus?

I bought a beat to shit but sounds great Yamaha dread for camping/beaching/boating for $100. Beat to shit means I never have to worry about dinging it or setting it down on the ground.

Auto censoring?

I had one for a couple days but sent it back for several cosmetic issues. It was a fantastic player and sounded great. I’d own another but my D-25 fills that role. Love a slope shoulder and shorter scale though. Hmmm…might need to pick up another…

I really love my OM240E as a knock-around kind of guitar, and I wouldn't rule one of them out. The arched back really gives it great projection, and I got a b-stock one from ProAudioStar for $250. For a little bit more, they had the dread size D240E, which I haven't tried, but I imagine would be similarly good. They have a super thin satin finish on them, and I think that helps, too.

On second glance........no case at that $449.......zilch, zip, nada, none. Wonder how they ship it.......just throw the guitar in a cardboard box?

They have very well designed specialty boxes for that. So well designed that I keep them around In case I ever have to ship a guitar without a case. My OM240E came like that.

Yes, this. My Jetstar and one of my Gretsch guitars that did not have cases came in well-engineered boxes. And those boxes were placed in a larger box from the dealer. Shouldn't be an issue.

I had two F-1512’s arrive damaged in those boxes. I sent the first one back, and the second one was in even worse shape on arrival.

It all ended for the good. I bought a nice JF-30-12 off of Chasmo instead! In a top-of-the-line Guild case.

Well I'm getting a bit of flack from the little Mrs. I don't know, something about my saying my last guitar was my last guitar or something like that. They simply don't understand. She didn't mind the last purchase since I divested myself of two of them and got one in return. It's the gaining a guitar she's not too cool with these days.

Can't hunt all day and night. We have a great cabin there. All I hunt these days are pests.........in this case, feral hogs, and we do that late at night. It leaves a bunch of time, and some places out there in West Texas there isn't much else to do but drink a beer, tell stories and play cards, and a guitar would be nice. ☺️

But the guitar you've got pictured just might be perfect. Do they come in .308? And it needs a rail for the thermal.

Neal,

Hope you're enjoying the JF-30-12!

That case... Heaviest (by far) chunk of wood I've ever seen for an acoustic HSC. Those custom shop cases from the '90s were insanely overbuilt. :)
