What's the story behind that first one Grot? You'd been wanting one and mom and dad bought her for you? They'd seen some obscure talent and pushed it on you? You saved your newspaper delivery money?

Just to keep this thread going, here are two photos from my first "gig" on bass! This is from the early 90's.

It was a party at the guitarist with the red Strat girlfriend's parent's house. They were out of town. We are set up in the sunken living room and the photo was taken from the kitchen. It was a wild party! Shortly after we packed up and left, they ran out of beer. One disgruntled partier got mad and threw the empty keg through the kitchen window! I could go on about broken lamps, punches being thrown at the last rehearsal before the gig, other dudes showing up to jam (keyboards), drunken harmonica players blowing the same harp no matter what key the song was in, and then getting pissed when he caught me turning down his mic, (he might have been the keg thrower, details were sketchy!). Ah! Rock-n-Roll. There's nothing like it!

Am I rockin' that mullet or what?

And yes, as you can see on the back wall, the name of the band was Physical Insult!

Sure are. I always wanted one, but could never get my hair to grow like that. Now that I look back on it, that's probably a good thing!

My last band (a power trio, of course) was dubbed Dry Heave. 8)
