Tunes,

That's what I had thought, but was not sure. I'd read it was a sign of a nicely quartersawn spruce top, as your Guild surely has. My D-35's top looks a lot like that.

Dave,

You may have (or not) noticed that I also have a Martin D-35. IMHO one of the Top 10 Martins built.

I played a D35 a few moths ago that sounded/played incredible. The only guitar I've played that to my ears and fingers, compares to some high end Guilds.

Count me in on this... couldn't agree more. Always thought I was more of a D-28 guy, but the D-35 suits me so much better. Many thanks again to Scratch... for the love of Hippie!

Nice picture, fungus. Looks just like mine! You got a better looking couch, tho...

I picked up the D-35 only recently - and somewhat on a whim. I had a chance to get a really good deal on a new Martin (mine's an '08). But being rosewood, it's just a different animal from the maple Guild (or the Koa Taylor). I'm still not completely sure that I'll keep it, but it does sound great.

Enough Martin chatter! This is the Guild place, right? I need a hog, and it'll probably be a Guild. Maybe a 12er.
