[quote="12 string":90kr4y8h]While my vote was for the F-612, I would love to see the F-112 brought back, especially if it had a short scale.

I am curious, has Guild ever done a shortscale 12-string guitar?

Not that I know of.[/quote:90kr4y8h]

I wonder if the F30 (a wonderful-sounding, comfy little guitar) could be done as a 12-string. Would add my vote for that, if the poll is edited with this option.

@geoguy: I think the first 1968/1969 shape of the F-112 was similar to the older "folk style" F-30. So I agree, such a originally shaped F-112 model would be something I could consider! (The F112 after mid 1970 was more like a small jumbo and pretty much larger compared to the 1968/1969 model.)
And by using a nice selected Mahagoni the price could be attractive (compared to any large 12 string). A nice spruce (bearclaw or anything else) adds to the beauty of the sound of such a original Hoboken style F-112. Just add fretboard markers and maybe a Guild logo headstock to show it is a GSR model. With today's technology it would be also possible to make the F-112 a bit more robust regarding tension on the bridge and neck I believe (to avoid bridge lifting, neck resets, shaving of the bridge and all the F112 "issues" of old models).
Just dreaming here. I love my current GSR F-30 Rosewood but could imagine to give it a nice GSR F-112 sister in Mahagoni...

We've talked about a lot of options except finish. Satin would be nice. I voted for all the 6-stringers except the dread, but I'm most interested in the F30 and F40. Timing would be a key issue for full commitment to purchase.

As of today, June 3, there are 61 votes (which includes multiple votes by one LTG member). So, how many individuals (total) voted, Ridgemont? Gosh, even with 61, it doesn't seem like a resounding number to convince Guild (FMIC) to do custom runs (regardless of the model, additions/modifications, bling, etc.) (FMIC's risk management team would probably say 'no')...although, stranger things have happened in the Guild World of Guitar Making. 8) :) However, the poll does indicate that true, loyal Guild owners are willing to buy a new NH Guild....me, included. :) This is encouraging.

Good info to share with Guild at the LMG 2011 weekend (as per Frono).

Didn't we just do this???

Yes, but Ridgemont wasn't part of it then. There's is always the chance that this time things will get farther.
It must have been at least 2 years ago since something like this was done. A lot has changed in the last two years specifically the start of the GSR series where dealers can order small batch custom runs. The fact that Guild is willing to do small batch customs is the main reason for this thread and to poll general interest. Given Guild's current business model, a custom run seems a bit more realistic, whereas previous Custom threads where mainly just an exercise in one's imagination.

All I know is that the minimum number of people that voted is 15. If you look at the poll, it appears that there is more interest in the F47, but, given the number of votes, I would say that any difference between that and the F30 or a dread is statistically insignificant. My opinion is that the poll did not show much other than there may not be enough interest from LTG to warrant a custom from Guild. One could argue, however, that an LTG custom does still make sense in that some would be sold to members and the rest would be sold to collectors and non-members.
