My thing was mostly my bike. If it ain’t that it was video games. I know me and some neighbor kids/friends would ride bikes all over the neighborhood. I remember one day we were in the front yard and a truck with a trailer sped by a dip in the street and a piece of plywood fell out of the trailer. We took it and made a ramp with it. The guy came back asking us if we saw that plywood that fell off the back of his trailer. By that time we pretty much ruined it riding bikes over it multiple times warping it pretty bad. “Uh no sir, we been riding bikes in the street all day and didn’t see any plywood.”

One of the few toy guns that justify the phrase ''You'll shoot your eye out kid!''

Mine was blue. I am reasonable certain I could find it in 15 minutes if I am motivated enough.

I was on eBay many years ago and saw this ad for sale for $25.

So I thought "Wait, I have the actual toy gun!" Used to play with it in the "good old days".

Even with a few dings and cracks, and my initial "J" painted on it - the sound was still LOUD - I sold it for $210. Not the kind of thing I wanted my kids running around with, you never know what might happen. Used the money to buy my youngest a bicycle!

Especially given it looks like it was made before that put the orange caps on the end.

Yes that's a fairly recent development along with the mandatory airbags on bicycles.

Those Mattel M16's have a bit of notoriety for being toy copies of real M16's for which Mattel was alleged to have built parts:.\

I wanted one bad. :D

Had slot cars and a couple of pretty nice bikes, too. Both imports actually, elected by my grampa: English 3-speed and then French 10-speed Orly "Tour De France". Loved that bike, didn't realize how cool or high-quality it actually was. Green, like Guild's Transparent Emerald Green. 🙃

In fact by golly, it looked an awful lot like this 'cept mine had white tape.:

Grampa was a bike guy. :)

When I was 19 I gave it a disassembly down to the bearings and crank to clean and re-grease everything.
Was able to ride it for about 2 weeks and then it was stolen.
