I don't suppose any of you guys had a Jingle Jump?

My Sister did!

They banned Clackers in my Jr. High School!

I don't know if Slinky's were mentioned yet. They didn't do much and were really harder to get them to walk down stairs then the commercial showed!

We used to play a lot of Wiffle Ball.

Then there were the games we made up like catch the cork. You could only play it for a while since it was illegal in NJ!

My Slinky would take 2 or 3 steps then start rolling down. No, they weren't much fun.

How about Etch-A-Sketch? I sat one day and made my screen all black so I could see in there to see how it worked.

Anyone remember the first Zipline version? Late 70s. My dad bought one. Attached it to 2 trees. Then tested it out with my brother. I mean, literally strapped Charlie in and pushed. Too hard. He goes right into the tree. It was terrible watching Charlie scream as he approached tree at speed and my dad was like, oh crap. Nothing to do but cringe and look away as the body hit. Poor guy. But no broken bones. My mom of course livid. Ah, childhood. 😀

I would hope that every kid with and Etch-A-Sketch did that. At least I know I did!

I was never very good at it. Not like these folks:

I could never get an Etch-a-Sketch to do anything that looked even remotely like what I was trying for. And I'm not a horrible artist or anything but it was just pointless to me.

Those are astounding!

No, I wasn't good at it either, but I liked to try. What was the gray stuff inside? I remember mine started leaking that stuff out around the right knob.

Stingray bike

Raleigh Chopper myself. I still sometimes dream of popping wheelies and riding the rear tire.

Erector set, model trains.

What in the world is erector set? And do kids need such? 😅

As for model trains - I was rep for LGB - garden trains for about 10 years - then a hostile takeover finished them - now they are part of Märklin and it's gone haywire. Nothing left from good times.
