F-30CE

Hello everybody,

The F-30CE should not be confused with the F-30. The CE suffix was used for an entirely different series of instruments with built-in electronics that started with the introduction of the F-45CE during the early '80s. Over they years many different models were added to the series of which the majority had oval soundholes. Enough models for a complete chapter of a book.

Sincerely,

Hans Moust

Hans,
Having spoken with a lot of editors and authors of text books, I would imagine that it would be a difficult task to complete... given that it's an ongoing story (and who knows what Fender will do next?). We are all grateful that you are undertaking it (and for all the info you share here at LTG). I'll bet there are close to 685 folks here who would be happy to help you "edit/proof" it, at least the chapters concerning their instruments of choice, as you go!

Dadgummit, I owe Guildmark an apology. Mark, I'm sorry! Mark had the first chapter of Geezerman with him in Dallas last weekend, and I forgot to read it! Please forgive me.

I don't know if I can ever forgive myself Coastaramo. It was right there, within reach and we got caught up in this stupid guitar playing thing. I forgot all about it. Now I'm having to wait with eager anticipation like everybody else!

I'm ready to read about Geezerman and Ebony, the suspense is killing me. I made the same mistake with The Guild Guitar Book Vol. II. There it was as Mr. Moust pointed it out, and I never even asked if I could look at it. It's almost like that special girl you could have had in high school, but missed out because you thought you wanted to do something with your buddies that day. You can never get it back!

Mate,

I can assure that there NEVER was anything that I wanted to do with my buddies, that I wouldn't rather have done with a girl !!

You guys mean to tell me that you NEVER gave up a date for a fishing, hunting, camping, motorcycle riding trip. Would you have given one up for a guitar show or a great concert with your buds?

Give me a break.

Well, West.

We've had a pretty agreeable Summer here, with temperatures regulerly around the 20C mark.
Weather has turned in the last 3 or 4 days, with nationwide wind and rain causing a lot of localised flooding. Early snow too, between here and the East Coast; chains were essential the other day in order to negotiate the passes.

Should be some more Summer out there somewhere, but who knows. The West Coast's a quite narrow strip of land between the sea and a mountain range, and in consequence, we get rained on rather a lot.
Of course, if we didn't get rained on, we wouldn't be living in a beautiful rain forest !

Take care,

Gary.

Hi Coastie:

I understand that much of the background footage in the Lord of the Rings trilogy was filmed in NZ; is that true?

If so, it must be a place of spectacular beauty.

20c...is that hot or cold?

Regards
