If you are bothered by finish dings and scratches, perhaps old is not for you. You may be a new and shiny guy. I remember bringing my 65 Texan home. It had no fewer than five large case bites on it's top, done so far in the past they just kind of blended into the top. Not two weeks later, I almost stepped on one of my dogs and ran the top into a metal music stand. Three inch scratch into bare wood on the dark edge of the burst. Olive oil and dust made it much less angry. It was where my arm rests, and another five years of sweat has made it blend in with the others. I just don't like pristine guitars. It was not a tragedy but a mild event.
Just in bursts. If you could see my F 212 or F30 you' d chuckle...one lookslike it has bearclaw on the outside of the ncl

I apologize as I can't cut or download pix or links on my antique notepad here at home but there are two JF3O' s on Reverb....both around the same price.

I like the Westerly ATB as it just screams vintage Guild. Seller sent me picture of bridge/saddle looks fine. My only issue is I like bursts w.out any blems....An NT...appearance doesn't matter but I'm anal on bursts looks. His are minor...but there.

Corona burst looks more like an Orph burst to me but I like it. Seems in fine shape cosmetically.

Different builds....assume different nut size as well.

No, the JF30 nut width was always 1-11/16, in fact I'm pretty darn sure '02 Corona JF30's actually used leftover Westerly necks, as they had the Gruhn "snakehead" headstock (as did D40's which went back to the "paddle" style ca. '03)
Another thing: Corona's AA tops were very very good, every one I've seen has magnificent silking.

Would probably prefer the Westerly to be a closer sonic match to my JF30-12, but burst makes it kinda moot as far as sitting on the rack next to it.
I suspect the Corona'll be a lot closer than you're expecting. ;)

Br1ck,
I see you espouse the Willie Nelson philosophy on careful guitar handling.

I clearly prefer the burst on the Westerly, but would pass on both because there’s no return option. The JF-30 had a long production run & seems to turn up rather frequently - and many examples have utilized highly figured maple (such as my ‘94 below). Given that we are not talking about a rare model and these two listings essentially put all the marbles in the seller's hands, I would personally wait for another one to come along with superior wood & buyer-friendly terms.

As for Rivington, in every listing I’ve looked at from them, the guitar seems more beat up than the category they put it in would suggest - and their prices always strike me as being at the high end of whatever they’re trying to sell.

Call me picky, but we’re talking about a fair chunk of money here!

Thanks for the reality check. Good to wait, pricing lately is whacked

I would like a burst but a highly figured back like that woukd more than suffice.
