Back to the original question - I had a MIK Jetstar for a few years, and I was very happy with the sound and the playability. Those goldtone pickups are great for vintage rock. I sold mine because I couldn't get into the weird 'gumby' shape. I payed $200 for it new. Just make sure it comes with a case, as they don't fit into a typical strat type case.
