The diamond neck inlays are larger on the F44/46 than on the GF60M and GF60R.
As a general rule yes. But I believe early GF-60R had the same large inlays... Can't proof it at the moment. There was a thread or two in the past about this topic.

According to the owner this is a 1987 GF-60 Bld (Maple):

But you are right, the guitars Clapton sold at Christies and Juliens have small inlays!
Left is Claptons GF-60NT, Serial No. GF600014, neck block date JAN 22 1987. Right is the later GF-60NT S/N GF600122 (or GF600128), neck block date May 10 1988. I don't trust Christies with there descriptions here...

And Christies showed a strange one, named F-46NT with a S/N KJ100096 and neck block date FEB 17 1989 !
Can't be a NT if it is a burst one...

That I did not know. Mine is #108 (1989), so obviously not one of the early ones.

I found the problem with looking at the harvest of Guilds new and used, I usually end up buying
one even if it is not what I was originally searching for....And everytime I move a couple more guitars
I end up finding something else.... and so the story continues

F30, patience is a virtue, my friend. :) I never had the wherewithal to buy Guilds impulsively, but slow down if you feel a loss of control. Only if you're not bonding after a few months with a new/recent purchase should you trade it. Otherwise, you'll ultimately be giving up something for the "grass is greener" mentality. Don't do that. Well, that's my advice, anyway. Take it for what it's worth (not much). :)

I did find a couple great Guilds while thinning the herd. And have less guitars and amps than I started with since I've been home recovering from multiple surgeries.
I usually buy used anyway and save in that respect. Few more guitars and one last amp I want to sell.... but then
- that pic LesB3 posted of the M75 Limited on Black w/nickel hardware -
I really wanted to get a replacement of the M75 I sold a while ago, eventually - but the M75 Limited in Black.... had to cave.
I usually don't buy new.
Just sold 3 guitars, so I guess I'm still ahead of the game....yeah that's the ticket.
