OMG . I just checked Reverb about pooped myself . I can’t sell a guitar have or get an offer and it’s fair price but it a bit unknown in this parts so I kind of understand.
The D55’s has some seriously crazy prices even the ones good condition . Makes me wonder how people think or who’s advising them . 😑

If Cordoba/Guild is putting limits on buying certain models or whatever and things keep going at these prices I foresee another sale or closing. Of course I don’t know head from my butt . It just seems like Guild USA is not moving at all . 😞
Prices on Guilds, Gibsons, Martins, and many other guitars are going through the roof on Reverb. Of course asking price is one thing… actually getting the asking price is quite another! I paid $3k+ for the F-312… but they’re nearly impossible to find in mint condition…

<<Update>>
I finally got to tryout (2) Guild acoustics yesterday.
1st was a Guild D225NT 12 string serial# AD421429 made in the USA at Westerly. Asking $1000.00

This was a used guitar in pretty clean condition appearance wise, minor scuffs light scratches here and there.
Action at the nut was a litter higher than I’m used to as well as down the neck.
It was tough to play. I did notice that the bridge had the beginnings of lifting due to the string pull.
All in all, decent tone wise, but to be honest, I was underwhelmed.

2nd was a D40 Traditional serial# C171640 $2399.99.
Last time I was in this store I seem to remember seeing this up on the wall. This was as I best remember approx. 2016.
It had no cosmetic flaws and appeared to be new, but has been in the store for a while. At least that is my impression.
The store was manned by someone who knew very little about their guitars. (not the owner)
Sound wise, on a scale from 1 to 10, ten being acoustic nirvana, I would rate it at a 4.
The strings were old and definitely in need of replacing. I’m sure it would have been better sounding with fresh strings. All in all, a bit disappointing!
Anyway, just an update. If Nashville pans out, I will be there before the end of the year.
In the meantime, I will be making a visit to Guitar Center to talk about ordering a new D55 USA.
Cheers

Typo? I would expect the model number to be a variation on D-25-12 with NT indicating natural. AD421429 is probably 1990's with 1996 being a reasonable guess.

Moot point if it didn't sing to you. Too bad because the D-25-12 owners here like the instrument although some of them want to upgrade or did ;-)

Stay in the hunt, McSeven!!! Good luck.
Yea I will…..I am not in any way putting down owners of the instruments I tried out so far.
The ones discussed above simply didn’t float MY boat.
That said, I have tried many high end Martins that also didn’t turn ME on.
So, there in lies my dilemma. Buying sight unseen from eBay or reverb where returns may be an issue or an inconvenience proves to me anyway that, one should always play the instrument before taking it home!
Guitar Center next stop🙂

Frono,
The model number I posted was written just as it appears on the Guitar. It was not a typo.
I couldn’t say why, but I copied it down exactly.
Go figure?

^ I think there's a missing "1" there in the label... maybe should've been D1225NT? Labels are a bit notorious around here. :)

Thanks. Getting the model number right on the label is an error prone process and that's before handwriting comes into play. There probably is a typo but it is the missing "1" on the label and not your transcription.
