Well, here's the box:

From the look of it, it might have been mashed a little in transit, but not severely. I've opened it at one end and it is acclimating.

And here's the swag. A Guild logo mug, a Guild logo hat, and a shirt that I also presume has the Guild logo on it somewhere, though I have not opened it to check:

The shirt is probably not going to fit me, but the hat, surprisingly, does. I usually have a hard time with hats due to having a Big Giant Head.

So now we wait for temperature. It's a good time for it to arrive; the temperature is in the 50s outside right now, which is unseasonably warm for late November in the Midwest. I'm impatient but I will let it warm up.
And if the shirt doesn't fit you, holler at me with a price and I just might take it off your hands, unless of course you'd prefer to exchange for one your size.:)

Love the radios! Do you restore them?
In a limited sense. I clean them up and restore them to working order. I don't try to make them look new, though.

When you have to buy furniture to house your hobby, it's a serious one!
Actually that wall was empty for 15 years waiting for me to think of something to put there, and finally I just bought two IKEA units and filled them with some of my radios, and it came out looking nicer than expected.

Anxiously awaiting the report, and the pictures!!

I'll bet the unboxing has taken place and he's inspecting it and conducting sound and playability tests. :)

Either that or patiently dealing with Thanksgiving activities and waiting for the chance to bond with the guitar.

Actually I simply slept in this morning and haven't gone downstairs yet. :) Once it comes out of the box I plan to give it another few hours before opening the case. Better safe than sorry.

Interesting texture they use on the cases these days, I rather like it. Sort of like alligator skin. Speaking of which, did you know avocados used to be called alligator pears?

The alligator cases with brass hardware are used for the top of the line models. The pebble finished cases with chrome hardware are for the midline models.

Hmm, I’ve got a newer case with that same badge, gold/ brass hardware, but without the ‘striped‘ appearance between the two textures.
