Very clever, Graham.

Americans may be puzzled though, as to what a modified Comet has to do with this-and-that.

Knew you guys would show up eventually. Sacrilege, heresy, photo opps, how could you resist?

It's like tossing a trout in smelling distance of a bear.

Man, am I getting sick of this guitar. This SOB has relisted again.

"Out, damned spot!"

Did you know there's an e-bay policy against listing counterfeit items?

I alerted E-bay to this particular scam. Numb-rod probably not be happy...

That would be a 'Nimrod' (after the lesser definition 'Great Hunter') in the air confirming the lack of rebellion on account of the flood. Alternatively the Brits couldn't bring themselves to call it: 'Mesopotamian Monarch' or 'Stumblebum' also used, Dred, by Army Drill Sargeants to diminish the self-esteem of recruits.

Welcome back G:

boy, Ebay's really got it on the ball

This morning I reported this listing to them as "counterfeit".

This afternoon, E-bay sent me an e-mail notice: "Your watched item has been re-listed, don't miss out!"

I got an auto response that they couldn't possibly take the time to send me a personal response regarding this counterfeit listing. However, they apparently have plenty of time to send me "phish-mail".

Snafuhauer, Hatted Frau, Hottie Cow. All my life I've had funny nicknames. My 8th-grade shop teacher called me Hot Hour. But all of the nicknames have been topped by his Coastieness.

Well I see th "Rare Custom D-50 Cool One of a Kind Guild Butterfly" on ebay is up to $2,999.99 with 6 bids. Either this guy is bidding on his own guitar to get the price up or someone is going to be real disappointed.

I tried emailing this bonehead several times but he won't back off with his outrageous claims of originality, blah blah blah. "Re-listed because of a technicality in the wording". (Reality: I claimed it was Brazilian rosewood, but I lied, and several people called my bluff, so I had to re-list it)

Well, there's a little over one day left on this auction. Any ideas on how to de-rail this moron?

Best way is to just ignore him. And yes, someone will be disappointed, whoever wins that auction.

Unless, of course, the winning bidder just wants to own this guitar because they like Guilds and like the bling...

I, myself, like the fingerboard inlay work, and the butterfly is nicely done by Sheen, but I'd've thought it would look better on the pickguard, rather than over the Guild logo...actually, were I to have the work done, I'd've chosen a couple of bookmarked celtic dragons, on each side of the bridge, rather than a butterfly, and the guitar would've been a F-47. :)

Graham, you're the only person I've met with a D-25 older than the one I bought in 1973. The serial number on my old D-25 (now property of my youngest son) is 72417.

Got any pics?

Beautiful condition.

Are those the original tuners?

Are you the original owner?

Mine was a cherry red before I had it refinished.
It was banged up over 35 years too.

I had the neck reset in 2003, I think. Or thereabouts.
Had the body restored in 2006. She's good for another
35 years. I hope my son can give it to one of his children
in 2042 or so.

I just bought this off of eBay last November I think it was. I threw a last minute bid in and won.

It's in decent condition and I believe they are the original tuners. I put a set of Tusq pins in it, from Don, but to be honest, I don't play it that much at the moment.

Once I get my son out and into University this September I'm going to set up a room more for me and put them on the wall so that I have easier access.

Right now all of the play time goes to the DV-52.

My '76 has the cherry finish.
