Curiously I had heard of the predecessor - Star Spangled Washboard Band - but had left the region before Blotto was formed.

Blotto and The Units (FoS) both looked like they were going places in the early 1980's. MTV had picked up a few Blotto videos, and the Units got a record deal and a few singles out, but it never went any further.
