The original thread had degenerated to the point that people were just posting words that sounded weird together or that were duplicates from the previous two years or were names that had been used, at least according to a Google search. Concerns were expressed :)

This new thread is started with the following rules and the hope that posters will strive to follow them and readers will assist in enforcing them.
  • Post an original name for a band.
  • Before posting verify that it is original - a Google search for <proposed name> +"band" or something similar is sufficient.
  • Optionally include commentary on the musical connection - song names or album names or origin story, for example, but really anything that indicates the "name" is more that a bunch of words thrown together.
This is being done in response to comments that the thread is no longer interesting and has become a dumping ground to increase post counts. If this proves to be more unpopular (PM me) than the wayward original then things can be merged and undone.

The Let’s talk Guilders

“Neck reset blues”
“Baby, your love is like an upside down truss rod cover”
“Where have all the Hagstroms gone?”
“ Rikki, don’t loose that switch tip”

I'll break one rule - we had a band in 60:s - my buddy came up w the name Sweet Cherry - we even had logo silk-screened.

The Schwas, their first single: "Uh..."
Was Richard Butler the lead singer for the band?

<veer>
Some friends and I had a theory that to become a famous singer, you needed to own a vowel sound and make it part of your style. Robert Plant owns the long "A" sound, as does Roger Waters. Axl Rose, of course, owns the long "I" sound, etc.

We decided Richard Butler from The Psychedelic Furs owned the schwa sound.

I once tried to get enough many people interested
- but it newer materialized
- band name would have been "Hus Band"
- Hus in english is Hush . . .

Does this one count ?

Once I was in a band and the lead guitarist had the humorous idea to call a band "Free Beer" to get attention on marquees and ads for the show.

Tonight only!!
FREE BEER
