I would think based on DD's thumb down style he mentioned it would accentuate the boom more than the bright but I have been wrong more than once today
....oh and please note I did say "non Guild" in the jangle department, I've been lucky enough to own all but a 612, 112 and the dred Guild 12'ers...you are correct..they don't jangle.
Restringing that Rick looks like a fun way to spend an afternoon...very cool

I used to lust after a Ric 12 until I tried to play one - the neck was so skinny and the strings so close together it was darn near impossible for me to play.
