Acoustic L-5, preferably a pre war one, but 10K is probably not enough.
Check out Archtop.com. You're bound to find one pre-war for around 6500. And Joe Vinikow is a straight shooter. Most of the guitars on his website are on consignment, and accurately described. He also has a great repair service and accessories for archtops.

Well, since these tend go for well over 10 grand...hmm, I guess a '60s Starfire V, and with what's left over either a Marlen pedal steel or

a tricone plectrum...

Probably buy an old F20 and then put the rest in savings. 😀

If I was given 10 grand to spend on an instrument, without a doubt is would be The 1951 Gibson SJ200 that was once owned by Reverend Gary Davis. Here I am with the guitar.

Even with dead strings and a horrible neck angle, it was amazing. I've never played a modern version of this guitar that was 1/10th as good.

Maybe a G-37, a D-50, whatever’s the D-50 equivalent of the D-50 because I don’t want excessive “bling”. Maybe a Gretsch Astrojet even though their wiring is goofy, and maybe one of the wild looking Yamaha electrics from the 60’s.

I'd dangle $5500 in front of Oxnard's management to see if they even can build an F47Rce with a 24-3/4" scale and a 24-fret board like the original F45ce, but with a 1-11/16" nut.
That's my pipe dream and I'm stickin' to it.

Unless they tell me they don't have the 16" jumbo body bucks to do it anymore. Then I'd up the ante another couple of grand and call Santa Cruz Guitar Company, they're just over the hills and not too far away from me. :)

I really have, or have had, most everything I’ve ever wanted to own. The remaining list is small and any of these fit under that number.
+ single cut LP Jr - I should have snagged one ages ago, though I have doubts I cared enough then or now
+ Guild Aristocrat - To this day I have never played one (not even a reissue) but I find them so fascinating.
+ Fender Jazzmaster - 65’ or earlier. I’ve owned every era and love them, but I sold them to pay off debt. If I had the cash lying around I’d likely make a run at one more.

I don't know the exact model of the Guild acoustics that I would pick without playing them but I would buy the best pair of Guild 6 and Guild 12 string acoustic guitars that my ears could distinguish.

Suggestions welcomed.

Something from the mid '80's to late '90's "F Series" they were F40 outline based and had cutaway and UST standard. Some of the post '98's even got a dual source preamp with a soundhole mic and UST.

I'm thinking that size would appeal to the electric player in you, and the necks are optimized for that too.

Just realized, didn't I talk about that in another thread? Maybe you missed it?
OK, so here's the early ones ca'91-'94:

Note all 3 body woods are offered. Those also had the 24-3/4 scale 24-fret 'board.

Ca late '94 they started getting 25-5/8 scale 22 fret 'board:

Finally, around '99, they revived the original F-47 as a "ce" as well, with a deeper body than the F-series.

Perfect all-round guitar shape, in my humble opinion. :)

Even my own shallow body F65ce's no slouch volume-wise.
