Looking to get to about 23 degrees here in sunny Nelson. A beautiful day it is too. Hope it stays nice for Christmas day so we can have lunch out under the tree...

Mrs. Fro measured the snow at 18" or 19" in the yard. Local airports are reporting higher numbers. Have not lost power and expect that is unlikely (knock on wood). Dug out enough to get a car out. We're on a short street with only two houses. The neighbors shoveled enough of our street to get to the currently unplowed cross street. We helped but they did most of the work.

My firehouse will be going on "standby" in a couple of hours.....all hands on deck. We have wireless at the firehouse so I'll bring my laptop and check in, I'll probably be there overnight.
Stay safe folks!

Rescue Capt. Dan
Captain Dan, you are the man!
Thanks from afar for all that you fire/rescue guys do.
Pass it on to the firehouse.

Joe

Thanks Joe!
All was quiet at the firehouse throughout the night with the exception of one call where a raccoon in someones attic ate through a fire alarm wire and activated it. I think the homeowner was more upset with the fact that they had a raccoon in their attic than if they had actually had a fire! People heeded warnings to stay off the roads which was good.

Looking like we might be all hands tonight also as they are predicting temps to drop and roads to ice up. Just sittin' home right now relaxing, playing a little guitar, catching up on LTG, and waiting for the call to head down to the firehouse. Life is good.

Very odd indeed. My snow shovel is still in the basement. Have not had a reason to get it out yet.
We'll get our winter but thus far November and December are clear.

Sunday was a clear sunny day. Looking southeast from the north shore of Lake Ontario, I could see the clouds marking the edge of the system that dumped the snow in the Maritimes & eastern US.

Snow is predicted here for the 25th (I'll be driving)

I take it you're talking Celsius?

Quite correct. Fahrenheit went out of here back in the 60's... Anything between 17 and 25 degrees centigrade is very pleasant weather, shorts and tee shirt without it being stinking hot (as in Australia...). A very pleasant side effect is that the young ladies about town doing their Christmas shopping look very lovely in their sun frocks or shorts !!

Just south of LTG'ers Steffan and John and the rest of British Columbia, we refer to the temperature below the border as "F" for Fahrenheit and north of the line as "C" for....Canadian.

**In Vancouver (one of North America's most beautiful cities), today's high was 10 degrees, Canadian.

Go Canucks,
Joe

That's what minus 12 degrees Celcius ? And people live there ???

In Winter we sometimes get a frost in the morning that's minus 2 or 3 degrees. I cant really imagine what a high of minus 12 degrees would be like !!
