I kinda like the disjointed and haphazard theme of this. But it's maybe a bit... uhmmmm, help me people. What's wrong with this...... ???

That picture of Burns guitar made me think - what if . . .
What if someone would make - say 10 - "startocaster" guitars with varying body shapes - one being like Fender Strat - just wood parts plus bridge - fretboard - nut - tuners. And for purpose of this test the neck would be identical - just more or less different body shapes and sizes.
Then we would give these guitars for evaluation - both players and non players.
Wondering how well the present Fender Strat would do.
It is a beautiful shape - but could it be improved - or are we esthetically prisoners with present shape the same way we are prisoners of SM58 when it comes to microphones?

I realize I was (still am) so hypnotized by Hendrix that the "real" stratocaster for me is upside-down! The regular right-handed strat played by a right-handed guitarist looks sort of OK, but not the real deal, if you know what I mean?Should I have my brain decalcified?
