In May 1991, when I was about to graduate from law school (and had just started playing in public), my dad took me to what was then Music Row in NYC (now sadly gone) to pick out a graduation present. After a day of playing Martins, Gibsons, and others, I picked a D25. I was happy because it sounded and looked great, and my dad was happy because it was the least expensive guitar I played that day. I haven't once regretted my choice.
That’s a lot like how Mississippi John Hurt got his F30. Great story and it’s awesome that you are still playing it.

Guitars, over time, tend to transfer goodness to their owners, in direct proportion to time spent with them.

Thanks...one more thing to feel guilty about today.....;)

I can vividly remember the day I retired. It was like forty years of creativity and repressed drive was unleashed. It was not subtle or gradual.

Heh, thanks!, I came up with it on the fly, and forgot about that post, lol. :unsure:Hmm, you think I should copywrite it, like Pat Riley did with 3 peat? Lol. Then again I suppose only people using it would be LTGers and in that case, screw it, feel free to use it where appropriate. I think it fits and will be my small contribution to the guitar forum world. :D In fact, the term is apropos for the recent sunburst Guild D55 I picked up, after cleaning it and new strings, first chords strummed and holy moly, Guildstruck!
