I get it with the beer cans, tossing evidence, probably from the wife, couple on the way home... Glass on the other hand, cuts tires and starts fires, most of the tossers are pretty good though, and bottle glass is pretty tough stuff. Out in in the ditches, the bottles are usually still in one piece.
What I don't get it the plastic water bottles. I use to think of bottled water for enviro conscious health freaks and joggers. Now they they sell piles of this stuff at gas stations. Water ripped off from some watershed somewhere, like Nestle in Michigan. And millions of empties are on the roadsides everywhere, same aholes. Can't keep it in their what must be just absolutely pristine vehicles, too good to hold on to it until you can find a recycling bin.
For the last few years now, I've been highly aware of the damage caused by disintegrating plastics in the environment. Microplastics are in everything now. They're in the air and in your beer.
A known percentage of baby Ospreys and probably many other types die in their nests, strangulated or just stuck in the slowly rotting bailing twine that their mamas incorporate into the nests. There are MILLIONS of pounds of rotting bailing twine everywhere. Every bird nest I've seen in the last ten years has unnatural fibers in it. Wtf have we done?

Your idea to have the fast food corps pay for this should go right up the food chain to someone in Congress.
Fast Food is the worst thing you could ever put into your body. Isn't it weird how we want the absolute best gas and oil for our cars because we know that will make it run better and last longer, but when it comes to our bodies, we look for the worst garbage we can possibly find. Pringles, Twinkies and Diet Coke. Hey, Do Twinkies kill Covid? It's highly likely and should be tested.
Remember Fast Food Nation?
I read it, back then, it changed my life. To everyone who hasn't read it. Read it.
The Fast Food thing is another one of my pet peeves. In the last twenty years, so much more has popped, as if we needed a McDonalds, KFC, Pizza Hut, Car's Jr. and a cell phone store retailer every three miles.
KFC had a poster of the whole family sitting down to bucket of chicken that said "Your family deserves a real meal".
Wtf does that say about Mom's cooking, or Dad's.
Upside down world.
