I told Mrs. Cougar "I'm going in." We needed a few things and I somehow ended up spending over 100 bucks at the market this morning. The shelves were well stocked. I wore my blue gloves and covered my mouth and nose with a scarf. This person had a little more elaborate "face covering"....

Around here, the new normal seems to be people leaving their surgical gloves all over the parking lot. People can be such pigs, especially when there's trash cans all over the place.

Yeah we're seeing that too. They take them off before getting in the car and drop them on the ground!

After I put the groceries in the car, I walk to the outside trash barrel, throw the gloves in. Get in my car and use hand sanitizer. It's not hard. People are friggin' rude. The grocery employees are working their rears off already, and taking a risk, now they have to clean up the parking lot, too?

To pick them up is a job that belongs to "someone else" - just last night we were witnessing same irresponsibility - not gloves, but trash outside McDonalds - and there was a trashcan only few meters away.

Don't get me started on the a**holes who throw their trash out the car window as they drive past my house. Seems we're about a burger & fries eating time from the fast food establishments. Take it home & throw it in the can? Oh, hell no. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

I'll bet a nickel that it's someone that lives right around the corner from you and they don't want to get caught with wrappers.

I get heavy into fire safety. Fought one with a homebuilt Power Wagon and our big F800 800 gallon pumper. Btw, for those of us in the PNW, things are looking dire with the DNR calling for an EMERGENCY Burn Ban starting 4-10-20, unheard of, and after yesterday freakish winds, I wouldn't even be typing this right now if they hadn't.

So a few years back, when I was actively buying a lot of fire gear, I bought a wildland backpack from a Fire Police Chief in the big city next door, and he's got the bid red truck in his driveway, and we get to talking about aholes who start fires and he says he "writes multiple tickets everyday to people who toss their butts when he's in their rear view mirror". Big red truck, says Fire Dept all over it. You don't even want to now the price of the ticket, pretty stiff, I think it was $375 five years ago.

Einstein said there two infinite things, the universe and human stupidity, one being unfathomable, and the other quite calculable but somehow without limit.

Also, people who litter.

Hey, can we start a thread on pet peeves? ;-[}}

We live 12 miles from town, in the middle of the beauty that is the creation, and when you see a bag of crap on the side of the road like that, it's so out of place, you can't just drive by. That wouldn't be right. You have to pick it up and restore the beauty.

When hunting season opens, gunshots here and there way too close, weird pickups full of city slickers in camo casing your place, and they leave fast food trash everywhere they park and eat. As well as a few shot up does by the side of the roads here and there. Smells real nice later, in the summer.

Back in the 90's I lived in the city on a busy thoroughfare but I took nice care of my yard and sidewalk, and there was routinely an exploded bag of leftover hamburger, fries, ketchup and tartar sauce covered in tiny black ants in the curb, a daily present.

One day I'm talking to my 20 something yr old neighbors Bill and Anisa, while I'm cleaning the gutter and I said "who in the fk tosses their fast food sh*t out of their car like this?" and she says without a missing a beat "I do" with a huge and gorgeous smile.

I give up.

I've given up on people such a long time ago...

Awhile back, I drove up to an intersection where this gal was stopped waiting to make a right turn, and she took the opportunity to open her car door and empty her entire ashtray onto the street. I came alongside her, rolled down my window, and gave her a piece of my mind. I do believe I even used some of my nautical language.

I've been known to do that too Marc. Litterbugs are a real pet peeve of mine.

Here in MA, businesses have been complaining. We have been reminded that it's up to a $5K fine for disposing of medical waste improperly. If we can't phycially deal with them, then at least fine the a$$h0les!

They should teach about thrash in school, or maybe they do, I wouldn't know.

Didn't even know about all this, haven't left the house for 5 or more weeks now, it's getting blurry... My awakening to it was having to go to an Int airport to p'up the old geezer next door in from NY and FL ands two days later wife from CA, this was on 1-31 and 2-1. Wife was already wearing her own mask by then, and even had an extra (I prep) to give a lady why was coughing her brains out on the plane.

Both times, when they got in the car, I smudged the car with Sage. Not a superstition, Sage can kill toxic germs in a room for 24hrs.

I also bought 3M N95, a box of ten like usual, 8511. $40 a box + the new tax. This was in the middle of Jan. eBay seller refunded saying he was out, translation, didn't want to ship at that price. I bought another box, same price, 3M, "for sanding and grinding", they showed up. And since I bought them before the CoViD hit the fan, I know they're genuine. There's fakes out there now.

A month later people were selling the same box of 10 on eBay for $140.

A few weeks later, they were seizing them from people and slapping $5k fines x 4 to a guy in NJ, Gouging, Outdated, Fake/Counterfeit, etc.

Thankfully mine were dated out to 06/23. I've already sent some to wife's cous/wife/son in NYC, trapped in a building with known sick people, then to my kid/hubby/grandkid in the big city next door.

She's freaking out about not being able to buy flour and we live in the biggest wheat Co in the US.

The wheat in the silos that the farmers are sitting is the Pacific Rim countries that don't even want it because tariffs, it's practically worthless, $4-5 a bushell. Farmers tell me that "the Gov controls the price of wheat and it hasn't changed in 40 years". Upside down world.

I'm tired of people parking in front of my place to eat and dumping their trash after, too.

Anybody remember this campaign?

We need another one paid for by the major source of that disgusting trash, the fast food purveyors.
Of course back then "fast food" wasn't a "thing" with people feeding their families on it nightly instead of maybe as an occasional "treat" and break for mom.
The real tragedy's in the fact that when it comes to stretching the food budget fast food's cheaper than trying to source healthier food (fresh fruit and veggies) at the market and prepare it at home,
