My one Guild acquisition in 2020; in fact my first Guild acquisition in 20 years: my minty '88 D-15. I have been Jonesing for one of these since I played a new one back in the day, a high gloss cherry one.

This Westerly D 55 popped up in a Facebook Marketplace feed one day amidst a bunch of items in an inventory ranging from lawn tractors to yard sale junk. Turned out she was "listing it for a friend." I got the sellers number; made contact; guy was worried about packing and shipping, but willing to drive it right to me. Closet queen! Took it straight to the luthier who does all my work for a quick inspection. and then put the cash in the sellers hand.

Well, this turned out to be an interesting exercise. I had no idea how active I was both buying and selling in 2020. It actually helped me realize how out of control I truly am (Thanks Shelby). I doubt I'll be changing my ways much but it did cause me to stop and think a bit.

So, I won't list everything because someone would yell at me for taking up too much space but here's what I did by brand:

Guild Bought 21 and sold 29

Gibson Bought 6 and sold 4

Martin Bought 10 and sold 0

So, it looks like I was up 6 guitars in total. I always like a balanced attack in football. Looks like I was fairly balanced in the guitar buying/selling game as well. At least that's how I rationalize it.

Honestly I’m afraid to look at my own ledger.

Hey guys - as long your family - including pets - is not starving and you're not robbing anyone - methinks it's perfectly fine and o.k. 🥰

We, who can not afford such luxury can at least enjoy the pictures. And maybe once in a while snatch a nice X-2000 . . . :sneaky:

I can't believe I didn't buy any guitars in 2020. I thought my F512 must have been bought this year, but after checking, it was acquired in 2019. It just seemed like 2020 since after getting it, it went to Guitar Czar for repairs. That shop was in the midst of expanding into an area next door, and I was told it would be a while. And it really was - seemed like it took forever! It was almost 2020 when I got it back. But worth the wait!

Well you have two rare Guild acoustics, Tom! I would be happy to have either of those in my stable.

I almost got a guy to trade me a DV72 for my '81 F512, but he backed out.

And this afternoon a sacrificial Dearmond M55 with which I will experiment with vibrato installations to see how each changes the sound. Just waiting for 3 identical sets of strings to arrive

Project 1972 Starfire lV, a solid body (Flier) from acornhouse, and today, should be receiving a RC20 reverb converter amp.

The one from Reverb? I was tempted, but it seemed "wimpy" (as a stand alone amp) compared to the Ampeg version.
