Hey y'all!

I registered last week, pending picking up a used Guild acoustic from an online retailer. I figured it would be silly to post until the deal was sealed and the Guild in my sweaty little paws......

It's here now!

It's a GAD-50 - and I've seen where there are some folks around here that don't really consider them Guilds. I dunno. I certainly couldn't afford a "real" Guild - so the GAD will have to do. I do know that I love that Chinese-made guitar.

Anyways - thought I'd introduce myself. I'm another middle-aged guy that is just returning to playing. I've been lurking here for a couple of weeks and this seems to be a nice little corner of the web to hang around in.

I'm looking forward to getting to know y'all better.

Happy Thanksgiving to one & all!

Skippy,

Welcome to the site, getting to be an uncommon number of Texans here.

I experienced a GAD 50 kicking my CO1's can in Arlington a few weeks ago. Leastwise for loud. I think it was a GAD 50, one of em anyway, belongs to Dr Izza & he was using a large pick !!!

Me being "a Buy American" curmudgeon, it hurt. Next time I pick a guitar fight with a GAD I'm taking the G 37 & a good stiff Dunlop, we'll see what happens.

Welcome Skippy, but you coulda started posting with no Guild affiliation atoll, just like me, although not many folks want to be just like me.

Anyway a GAD's a Guild in my book and that's what got me here in the first place.

Pull up a chair and don't be shy.

Skippy --

Let's just think of GAD's as "Guild Light" -- knowing that you'll becoming addicted and have to move up to the hard stuff -- a vintage Guild -- sometime in the future! *S* Seems like this stuff is addicting.

And it's okay to love your GAD... really. Don't let anyone take that away from you! I love my Jay Turser, my LaPatrie, my "Lucy" as well as my Guild D-35. They are all my children, and I love different things about all of them!

Be that as it may, Carol, sometimes you just can't love that child. Take my KayKraft acoustic....

No, really, take it, it's a horrid guitar!

Welcome SkippyX. :p

Welcome.

Don't be embarrassed by a GAD. You are still higher on the totem pole than a bass player :)

Welcome to LTG Skipper. On this forum, we all agree to agree and disagree. Just part of the fun and love of Guilds, whereever they're made! And besides, after all, its not a Martin. SORRY JAN!!!! :)

Skippy,

Welcome, and keep up the good work on the peanut butter. (Note to those who are Newsy Landish or You're a-peein': "Skippy" is a brand of peanut butter. Note to those who are Newsy Landish: peanut butter is made out of peanuts.)
