I hate to keep beating this drum (not really) but another beautiful DV-52 just went for $754.45 on ebay.

If you're looking for a nice Westerly made rosewood dread with deluxe appointments, look no further than the next DV-52 that gets listed. The last four I've tracked have gone for under 850 clams and they were all in nice shape, with hsc.

Why do these go for less than most D-50's when they are in fact more guitar than a D-50? Is it because people just aren't as familiar with this model?

I think all of the V series of that timeframe are worth a hard look.

Dred,

I agree with you. The DV-52's are certainly more guitar for the money looking at the features, but many folks are not as familiar with the model and the recognition isn't there. I have not had the pleasure to play on one myself :( but I suspect they sound as good at the D-50's.

Sold that sucker Dred, we had one, but it was my wife's guitar and she decided to sell. The General has that guitar now. I think he likes her.

I put in a ridiculous lowball bid of $675.... which I felt oddly compelled to do after hearing some of the insane deals you guys have gotten. But, I'd probably get shot if I won & my wife found out (and deservedly so). Though for this price, somebody got a great deal.

DV52's are cannons. Just amazing guitars.

Not to worry, Fungusyoung.
If you won and your wife got mad, I would gladly give you $676.00
so you could tell your wife you only bought it to make a little money! ...Just trying to help
BTW, I saw a post of yours a while back on the Telecater Forum that directed me to this site. Just wanted to say thanks.. its a nice place!!
Although, some here might not thank you pointing me in this direction!!

I actually saw that before it sold. Just don't need another right now, and I've just been blowing past the computer doing stuff around here.

And worth evey penny of the BIN price!!!
In my last post I only ment to point out the fact that a lot of folks on evil-bay buy on spec and dont really know what they have sometimes and therefore are willing to let some go for ridicules prices just to keep there money moving.....Guilds are the most underrated Guitars on this or any market!!!
