I really love the look of Guild acoustic guitars in Amber Burst (AMB) but this finish seems to have disappeared from production years ago. Does anyone know why?

That color was only available on the first generation GAD models... Agreed, that color looked nice.
The GAD-50, GAD-30, GAD-G211, GAD-F40P, GAD-JF30 and GAD-JF48 versions were offered with Amber Burst but only from 2005 until 2008 (during Tacoma years).

It was used on Guild electrics and flattops (late '70's or '80's, forget exactly) before the GAD line existed, but perhaps you thought ParadiseSeeker was asking about the GAD's specifically.

That's what I thought he meant before I realized that was a GAD model in the pic, as it was always one of my faves, too.

I went with his picture but you are right, the color was used also in Westerly, here is an example post with pictures:

Or also on electrics:

Also recall an F65ce a few months back that was thought to be Tennessee Orange (never a standard color on those) that in retrospect I realized was more likely a well-aged standard Amber (not burst), almost as dark as that GAD.

In fact my own D25's Natural top is now so dark from sun exposure it looks like "new" Amber.

I’m staring at a 1986 Westerly G37 in amber burst finish.
Pics? I confess to being lazy about searching to see if you've posted some before. (I assume you mean it's yours) :)

But if that's "problematic", understood. The only pics I post so far are links. Maybe one of these days...🤠

Oh yeah, the D25's up on Youtube right now, you can just turn off the volume if the music's not your cup of tea...

The red racing stripe down the center has reddened up particularly nicely, it wasn't that prominent when new...love it to death. :)
