I have about ten but I have no idea where they are. LOL
Just guessing, GAD, but perhaps you need a printed version of Clamps! :D :D

First glue up looks good, everything nice and tight. A little alcohol to bring out the color. But the next step is when the magic happens. I need to cut it into strips so I can flip them and alternate them for an end grain cutting board.

(I'll say this, 1-1/4" thick solid hardwoods is sure a LOT heavier than any guitar.)

The best-laid schemes of mice and men gang aft aglay.

As I set up to recut the board, I checked the first trim cut.

Interior checks in some of the cherry. Not great, but acceptable in a long grain cutting board, but catastrophic in an end grain board. So no alternating checkered pattern to see. I'll just get it sanded and rounded and finished as is.

That did give me extra that I made two small, thinner, boards out of; perfect for small jobs.

What kind of binding and purfling are you going to use on the cutting boards? ;)

I totally missed the "couple days off" comment and was very confused as to what was happening. :)

Just sanded to 120, rounding the edges. I'll wet them down to raise the grain and sand at 180 or 220 tomorrow before getting the tung oil on.

Popped the big one on the scale and it's clocking in at a healthy 7 lbs., 7 oz.

Be careful or someone will be requesting an AcornHouse Starfire. I am serious!
Since the Starfire(s) use a laminated archtop, that’s something I’m DEFINITELY not going to do. Too much equipment needed to make those. Now, if someone wants a carved archtop, then, sure. I already have the Benedetto plans and DVDs and a Sitka spruce wedge. Of course, I should probably do the first for me. Maybe.

A Starfire thinline hybrid, now that’s an idea. Flat semi-hollowbody Ala Tele thinline/Ric. I’m sure there’s a Gibson 335 variant that does this, but I don’t know their line well enough.

Something like the Burnside by Guild BE-110 Mini-Starfire could do... But she is not flat...

Just one more critical step for today. After filling the inner checks on the edges with sawdust and CA and sanding those down, everything gets a wipe down with distilled water. This raises the grain so that after a gentle sanding when dry, it'll be ready for the oil.

Plus it shows the true color nicely.

Um, Chris, you better watch out. An AcornGADHouse collaboration on building amps would sell out here on LTG!!!!

We'd need a cleverer name...

We could build Ceriatone kits that look like this!

I'd have a hard time letting something that pretty go, though.
