Gardman,
I was talking to Tom at Local Music last Saturday.
He said that he was waiting for your D-44 to show up.
How are you liking it compared to your other Guilds?
Would you recommend Pearwood to others?

TMG...
I am hoping to get her down to Tom this Saturday afternoon. I wanted to try a little recording with her before I took her to Tom, since I don't know how long it will take him on those cracks (top and heel), and my recording deadline is approaching (recording a CD to send to family at Xmas).

I am REALLY liking her so far. Nuts a little high and string spacing a little tight (a new nut is on the list for Tom)... but other than that, she plays really nice, and sounds fantastic! Mostly have been fingerpicking... haven't really tried her out with a flat pick yet...

Listened to/mixed my first recording attempt with her last night (Stan Rogers' "Field Behind the Plow"), and am VERY happy with my first impressions of her recorded sound, as well ('tho less happy with my voice). Smooth, but with really nice sparkle to the trebles and mids, and great bass (but not overpowering the recording, like my D-55 can). Tried a couple more takes this morning before I came to work (capoed up a fret, to better match my voice range). When I get a chance to mix them, I'll probably post the better version on my Soundclick! page.

This is the only pearwood guitar I have ever played, but based on this one example, I would highly recommend!
