There is this F 30, it's been on Dallas CL since Arlington.

Thank you Jeff. Would it be a huge imposition for you, to ask the seller some pertinent questions please ?

I'm going to take a guess here; "56" is close to "SB", as in "sunburst". I don't know how you could make that spelling error, especially on a computer, but that is my guess as to what he means.

Or is that the year of the guitar? 1956? If THAT'S the case, then let in on this one . . .
Hoo Boy . . .

Looked at the posting again - never mind - it was made in 1985.

Think I have a block on my computer some place. My son is coming home this weekend. I think I will show him the problem, maybe he can fix it.
These kids know more about computers than us older folks.

Must be; if you can't see any pics, has to be some kind of pop-up blocker or .............. WTH, it could be anything. :( cj

Hi Coastie - I have an A50. Thought I'd pipe in here with a penny or two's worth ...

I like the 1 3/4" neck (sweeet) and they're comfortable to play due to their size. I don't know if mine's typical, but tone-wise it's very balanced and has a unique punchy/woody tone. It took me a while to get used to it and for months when I thought of "thinning the herd" it was in the potential candidates list, but every single time I brought that lil' girl out to play and took the time to really appreciate her she immediately was off the sales list!

To my ear the tone of the A50 I have is kind of a combination of a really good mandolin (lots of percussion/punch), and an archtop (articulate sound without a ton of bass). If you look closely, these are sort of the shape of an OM Martin but the bottom is flatter - this might be responsible for the shallower bass tones. You could probably label the tone "boxy" if you wanted to - not as much depth as an OM or F30 in the bass register - but it's such a unique and woody sounding guitar it's easy to overlook the shortcomings and appreciate it's strong points. I especially like it for single-string noodling...

The auction pics of the A50 you're looking at shows one shot of the strings/body at the neck joint - is it me or do those strings look pretty far from the fingerboard...? Reset candidate? Bargaining point w/seller?

Good luck - they are sweet little guitars. :D :D

Punky.

My apologies for having not responded to your post.

I've bought an A25 on Ebay, and am still watching that A50.

Seller acknowledges that the action is a little high, but assures me that all is in order.

Thanks for your assessment; I may bid further on the A50, still a few days to go.

Congrats on the A25! Nice guitars - I had one of these as well a while back but traded it to a friend who made me an amp. It was more lively than the A50 and more responsive too, but I guess sometimes I go for the underdogs... :)

And the OHSC for those are built like a tank!
