I know this is 12 years late, but I just bought, I think, the first production Guild A50 acoustic 1995. I can find little info in writing. Some have responded and I appreciate that. If you have more info, I would like to hear your response.
Thanks.

There are multiple threads here at LTG about the 90's A-Series. Some members have one and like them. The guys in the factory had a different opinion. One of our members who worked there said: "the general opinion in the factory is that they were crap. i never saw a good one." That comment was about both A-25 and A-50 flattops.

Here are some previous discussions:

Anyway, they showed up first in the July 1995 pricelist:

1997 Catalog:

By Winter 1997/98 they were no longer shown and gone.

thanks for all info and pricing etc. from all. I bought mine a month ago at my local Sam Ashe store. A bunch of guitars came in from a local guitar case maker where they were used to make molds, as I understand.
this particular one is ser. No. AD500001 and stamped inside as June 1 1995. The AD is supposed to have been an AF someone commented.
I wanted a good acoustic as I sold all my acoustics and found that after Covid, jams were starting back up, however, this one really caught my eye. It seems of very high quality and has a wonderful resonance. It just does not have the power to compete with the Bluegrassers and the dreadnaughts. I had a L R Baggs M1 Active pickup installed and it has the sweetest sound I think I have heard in an acoustic guitar. I only paid $800 for it and it seems head over keels above any other guitar in its price range. I stand corrected on past posts of believing it cost originally, $2500. I see it is only $1500.
as for the person commenting about it being a poorly built guitar, I don’t know, but the only negative thing I see is the inside glue job has some excess glue in several areas. It is in excellent condition.
clearly to me, it is wonderful guitar for the person playing in a solo or quieter area such as a trio doing fingerstyle in a hall or quieter venue.
I will be looking for another in the future, perhaps more in the style of a D55 guild. Ha, ha. Dream on, right.
