I'm getting so confused - keep thinking I've made a post I don't remember doing and finding it's Graham - his revenge for saying his beaver loooked like a constipated chipmunk I guess
Oh, I was wondering.......

Hey, Coastie,

don't get me wrong here, but that Maton looks like it was put together with driftwood! What's with the top?

I like the effect - particularly the small knot a couple of inches below the left of the bridge  Nice bit of pinewood :?:

Just joshing Gary - nice guitar - probably better than the plywood on the top of my Epiphone :)

Couldn't see driftwood listed - guess it cam under 'newly discoverd' wood (as in just found - on the beach) :?:

And that pickguard . . .well, that is the first pickguard I've seen that matched the greenery behind it. Hmmm . . driftwood, greenery . . . that is the makings of a great - ahem - beach guitar. :)

I'll bet if Robinson Crusoe built himself a guitar, that's probably what it would look like . . . :)

It's a good thing Coastie don't know where I live, 'cause he's probably blowing his top at me right about now.
All in good fun, folks

Really, that is a cool guitar!

Hey Coastie that is a fine looking A25 at Elderly. Good to tame the gas. Besides had surgery on my left hand, finally to correct the thumb so no real playing for a few weeks then all bets are going to be off.

Great photo Coastie.

I'm thinking of an A-25 or 50 for Cid. Does the A-50 have RW back and sides?

Sure does, and welcome back Brother.

Thanks Gary. That one is now sold. :(

I put in a request for them to let me know when one arrives. Although if you decide to part with your A-25 Gary, please give me a shout. Cid likes the look of yours.

Guitar, that is.

Are you looking for an A-25 specifically Graham, or would you go for an A-50 if one appeared ?

I spend a fair bit of time "looking around", and I'll keep an eye open.
In fact, for you, I'll keep both eyes open !

Pity you're a little late.......... ajgorman just sold one.

More for an A-50, but yours is in real great shape and the mahogany looks fabulous.

I saw one listed in Kiwiville, but I don't understand the auction thingy. There are no pics either.

That was listed last November, and the "MOFG" who asks questions is me.

The guy had an $1800 (about US $1400) reserve on it, which is madness !

Dunno if it sold; my guess is that it didn't !

You can also put out an APB on Gbase for anything that you're looking for.

Interestingly enough and just recently, an A-25 and an A-50 were on eBay at the same time. I forget what the A-50 went for but I do know how much I paid for the A-25! It's on schedule to arrive on Monday, after 2 PM, Pacific Standard Time.

Pick and grin every chance you get....the times demand that we do!

Steffan, I've wondered the very same thing myself. I'm doubtful that a luthier would have the necessary tools though, to work a nut and saddle.

I've had a couple of end pins and strap buttons made that look very nice. If I had the discretionary income available, I'd get some tuner buttons made...... I think that would look stunning !

The great thing about Greenstone (Jade) is its fantastic colour range.... from yellow, through all shades of green to black. It would also look nice as position markers on a fretboard. But sonically, I shouldn't think that it would do the guitar any favours !

Best Greenstone in the world right here where I live..... a lot of ornamental stuff that you see for sale is Chinese stuff. It's real, but of inferior quality.
